Dr. Martin H. Hoffam Receives a Loras Degree

The Telegraph-Herald, July 31, 1952
One of the first newspaper articles that I read online which piqued my interest in Eloise was the story of Detroiter Shirley Tapp who became a national celebrity after she slipped into several religious trances. Dr. Hoffman attended to her and diagnosed her as being in a twilight state of religious hysteria. Which tends to infer that she was obviously faking her symptoms but due to the fact that she was religiously inclined her stopped short of calling her cuckoo. For that alone he deserved a Loras Degree.
