The Gold Did Not Come

Not only did the Poor Commission take care of the county charges but their own vested interests. Former commissioner Capt. John Quinn invested a large sum of Eloise employee money into a gold mine in Idaho run by a man named John Kirchner. What he thought was good business sense turned out to be a scam and their only return were finely printed certificates which held zero value.
