Detroit Says Thanks

The Windsor Star, October 21, 1967
I don't know at what point, if ever, that the Eloise fire department turned from an all-volunteer force manned by indigent wards of the asylum into a professional squad, but if they did it occurred after 1933. I also have no idea when the department ceased to function but it was still active during the 1967 Detroit riots and lent either equipment or men to the cause.
