Eloise Fireman Shoots Wife, Himself

Detroit Free Press, November 7, 1945
Edmund Weit, a fireman at Eloise, didn't take well to the divorce proceedings that his wife, Laura, an office worker at Eloise, filed against him a few months earlier in 1945.

Weit forced his wife at gunpoint from a Dearborn beauty parlor and drove to their former home at 6004 Cooper in the same city, ordered her out of the car and then shot Laura in the throat. He then shot himself fatally in the head. She died just over a month later at Eloise.
