A Pigeon Shoot at the WCGH

Detroit Free Press, May 26, 1954
Nothing sounds further from a good idea than a hunting expedition at a hospital but especially one that housed a significant amount of mental patients. But such was life at Eloise. So Business Manager Max Barton led a troupe of 22 employees in shooting pigeons from the roofs and grounds on the property, filling the courts with dead bird carcasses. Needless to say, the massacre brought about a swift and angry rebuke from the throngs of patients and visitors.
