Punk Rock Blue Hairs

Detroit Free Press, October 16, 1957 (enlarge)
Wayne County General Hospital attendant, and probable future mental charge, Roland D. Donehue was given the task of cutting elderly patient's hair at the facility in 1957 and proceeded to give them so-called "trick" cuts. By "trick" the newspaper meant mohawks, tonsures and V haircuts, whatever the hell that is.

The hospital, of course, was furious and gave the attendant a two week suspension. The union was none too pleased with the action and countered that hospital conditions were causing low morale.
