More on Latimer

Detroit Free Press, August 31, 1945 (enlarge)
I briefly wrote about Robert Latimer in a previous post but this article both muddles and clarifies some things. Mainly the date that he was released from prison and when admitted to Eloise. For some reason the ever-wrong Free Press places a seven year gap between those events when in reality it was a matter of months in 1939. Although it's possible that Latimer went to the Poor House first and was later admitted as an insane patient. Either way, he was one of Michigan's longest-serving prison inmates and one of Eloise's most infamous.
