"Lord, Give Us This Day Our Daily Bre...Our Daly's OR ELSE!"
Detroit Free Press, November 8, 1974
Apparently the unidentified mental patient who escaped from the Wayne County General Hospital wasn't criminal mastermind that some thought him to be. He just had a hankering for some Daly burgers. When he found that the restaurant was closed for remodeling he kicked through the front door and did a bit of remodeling himself, breaking windows, throwing pots and pans and causing general damages. He was returned to the hospital leaving poor Helen Barnard to tend with the mess at the 21547 W. Warren location in Dearborn Heights. But not before scuffling with the cops and cutting one officer with a butcher knife.
